Haldane Fisher operates a Treatment Service out of our Newry branch. Timbers can be treated with a choice of either next generation TANALITH E or VACSOL Aqua wood preservatives from Arch Timber Protection, world leaders in timber treatment technology. The treatments are made under rigidly controlled conditions in our high pressure (TANALITH E) or double vacuum / low pressure (VACSOL Aqua) treatment plants. Both treatments provide an assured long term protection to timber against the threat of wood decay and insect attack.
Next generation TANALITH E is an advanced preservative treatment now incorporating BARAMINE application technology. The resulting TANALISED pressure treated timbers have an initial pale green appearance and are designed for use in either above or in ground contact. Typical applications include general construction timbers, garden and landscaping projects and fencing timbers.
VACSOL Aqua treatment is suitable for construction and joinery timbers that will be used above DPC level. Typical components include roofing and joinery timbers, claddings, truss rafter and timber frame materials. The treated timbers are coloured with a gold dye as an aid to treatment identification. Any VACSOL Aqua treated timbers used in exterior applications must have a suitable and well maintained decorative coating to keep the long term preservative benefits.
Treated timber user guides for both TANALITH E and VACSOL Aqua treated timbers are available from the following links.
